Gemma Louise – Proud to solely focus on Womans well-being
"TAKE THE PEARL, LEAVE THE SHELL BEHIND"
As a woman's psychotherapist, I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to my practice. Having qualified in 2014 as an integrative psychotherapist, I draw upon a diverse range of modalities to tailor each therapy session to the unique needs of each client. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with women from all corners of the globe, spanning various ages, cultures, and backgrounds. What struck me most profoundly was the common thread woven through each woman's story: amidst life's hustle and bustle, the traumas and dramas, they had simply forgotten to love themselves, or their childhood traumas hadn't allowed them to learn. My approach is rooted in guiding women to confront their inner child, who is often desperately seeking light amid the shadows. By nurturing this inner child, women can unlock the path to becoming the empowered individuals they truly deserve to be, embracing their wildest dreams with love and acceptance. Additionally, over a decade of dedicating my work solely to women, I have observed a significant correlation between past trauma and hormone-related issues, such as menopause and postnatal depression. These life-changing events can feel even more burdensome due to the weight of past pain carried by these women, with their nervous systems already in a state of dysregulation. By addressing past traumas alongside hormonal concerns, I aim to provide holistic support that addresses the root causes of my client's struggles, paving the way for transformational healing to lead a harmonious life aligned with your true self.
Gemma Louise unique and effective approach to therapy:
Gemma Louise offers a unique approach to therapy, recognizing the challenges many women face in finding time for in-person sessions and the importance of confidentiality in seeking support. With this in mind, she provides over-the-phone counselling, allowing clients to access therapy from the comfort and privacy of their own space. Gemma understands that for some, being heard without being seen is crucial, whether due to personal preferences or confidentiality concerns. Additionally, she offers typing therapy, recognizing the cathartic nature of expressing thoughts and feelings through writing. This method allows clients to engage with therapy in a way that feels natural and comfortable to them, fostering deeper self-expression and exploration. Gemma's commitment to providing accessible and personalised therapy ensures that every woman has the opportunity to embark on a journey of healing and self-discovery, regardless of their circumstances or preferences. As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), Gemma adheres to the organization's ethical guidelines and standards of practice, ensuring that clients receive professional and ethical care.
At V. FEMME, psychotherapy with Gemma Louise offers a dedicated space for women to embark on a journey of self-discovery and healing. Each therapy session is carefully crafted to provide support, guidance, and a safe environment for exploration. Sessions are structured to last 50 minutes, allowing ample time for meaningful dialogue and reflection. The fee for each session is £52, reflecting the value of the transformative work undertaken.
It's important to recognize that therapy is a process, and meaningful change cannot happen overnight. Therefore, it is recommended that clients commit to a minimum of 12 sessions, booked in advance. This schedule, consisting of one session weekly for three months, provides the consistency and continuity necessary for profound growth and development.
With Gemma's compassionate guidance and expertise, clients at V. FEMME are empowered to navigate life's challenges, cultivate self-awareness, and embrace positive change - "take the pearl. and leave the shell behind"
The modalities Gemma Louise works with:
Humanistic Therapy: Humanistic therapy is a client-centered approach that emphasizes the individual's capacity for self-awareness, personal growth, and self-actualization. It views each person as inherently valuable and capable of making positive changes in their lives. Humanistic therapists create a supportive and non-judgmental environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly. Key concepts in humanistic therapy include unconditional positive regard, empathy, and genuineness. The therapist focuses on facilitating the client's self-discovery, helping them to gain insight into their emotions, values, and beliefs, and empowering them to make choices that align with their authentic selves.
Psychodynamic Therapy: Psychodynamic therapy is rooted in the theories of Sigmund Freud and emphasizes the role of unconscious processes in shaping behaviour and emotions. It explores how early childhood experiences, relationships, and unresolved conflicts influence current thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Psychodynamic therapists help clients gain insight into their unconscious patterns and dynamics and by doing so gives the clients the tools to break unhealthy patterns of behaviour.
